I put up my first web page in December 1994, when the net truly was the last unexplored frontier. I was one of the very first women to venture into what had previously been considered "men's territory". My first page, which was devoted entirely to my love of dolphins, was extremely popular - I believe for two reasons. First, lots of computer guys were curious to see what a WOMAN could possibly come up with for a web page. I think they were expecting to find recipes and pictures of kittens and babies. They were wrong! Second, I think women were just getting into the net, and wanted to see pages done by other women! Anyway, whatever the reason, my first page crashed the Mac Server it was sitting on, it was receiving so many hits! I take great pride in the fact that *MY* page was so popular that it crashed a server :-)
Now, my humble little page is just one of millions, but I still enjoy working on it and improving it. I'm always working on something, when I have time, and I still love dolphins. Now, there are hundreds of great dolphin pages around, with a lot of pictures which are better than what I have. I think its great, and I'm amazed at the rate which the Internet has grown over the last 3 years.
Enjoy, look around, and be curious! Take advantage of the freedom of the Internet, and learn all you can.
